This session will be run in both English and Spanish.
This session will explore innovative practices and challenges in the production and visualization of population statistics. The session will feature four thematic components that build on each other. The four components are:
- Status of the 2020 census round: We will explore the challenges faced during the 2020 census round and strategies for multilateral support.
- Innovative practices using web-based surveys: We will delve into the evolving landscape of new technologies and web solutions for collecting population data.
- Population modeling for statistical visibility: We will shed light on how population modeling can be integrated as an integral part of census evaluation and enhance the accuracy and completeness of census data, even in challenging circumstances.
- Statistical visibility for populations that are furthest behind: We will showcase innovative approaches for enhancing statistical visibility of marginalized populations and illustrative examples of progress made at the national level in addressing these issues.
Following presentations on each of these components, there will be ample time for participant engagement to ask questions and share their own experiences on these topics.
