In this session, various organizations will share their perspective and work on gender-based violence, in order to prevent this violence and influence public policies. It includes a space for attendees to comment, share their experiences and doubts.
The session will address a look at the data on gender-based violence from different perspectives. Thus, from a global perspective, UN Women will begin with the most relevant data published in the Gender Snapshot, followed by a presentation by the Gender Division of ECLAC on the regional agreements and most relevant figures. After this general overview, we will have presentations of more local experiences by the National University of Rosario-Argentina, the Statistical Office -Zanzibar, NGO Amaranta-Chile, and other guests (Cultivando Género-Mexico and TEDIC-Paraguay).
The session is recommended for civil organizations, researchers, activists and other people with an interest in the topic. No prior knowledge is needed, because contextualization is included.
