At Aapti and ODI, we’re interested in participatory data which can be a key lever to rebalance power in the data economy. We currently see the level of participation varying in different contexts around the world, and this session will focus on participation in urban contexts. We want to bring together examples of participatory urban data governance from around the world, and collaboratively articulate a vision for a participatory city of the future building on different perspectives and examples.

We would like to convene a community of practice around participatory urban data governance efforts in the Global South. We plan to launch either a Discord or Slack channel to host this community. The intention is to build a repository of best practices and bring together interested stakeholders and foster a shared vision for participatory urban data governance.
