The Government of Peru's National Institute of Statistics and Information (INEI, for its acronym in Spanish) is responsible for regulating, planning, directing, coordinating and supervising the official statistical activities of the country.
INEI is the lead coordinating agency of Peru's National Statistical System - a network of public sector entities at central, regional and local level that produce and disseminate official statistical information.
Their vision is to ensure reliable, timely, and quality statistical information effectively contributes to the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies, programs and projects that impact on economic growth, poverty reduction and environmental conservation.
Priorities as an Inclusive Data Charter Champion
INEI signed on to the Inclusive Data Charter in late 2020 and is currently developing an IDC Action Plan outlining their priorities.
