Through an update of the Third Open Government Partnership National Action Plan for the United States, released on September 20, 2016, the United States committed to develop a U.S. government SDG Data Revolution Roadmap by June 2017. The roadmap seeks to chart the course to fill data gaps and build capacity for data-driven decision-making.
In a roundtable designed to jump-start the roadmap by developing a framework for work to be completed in the first year, participants addressed three themes: (1) strengthening the U.S. SDG National Reporting Platform, (2) data for action in the U.S., and (3) supporting global efforts to achieve the SDGs through data-driven initiatives.
A January 2017 report summarizing their insights and recommendations was produced with the support from the Center for Open Data Enterprise and the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data.
